Will be back

Thanks for reading for nearly two weeks so far.

The original goal of the newsletter is to find a tribe of like-minded readers who are as interested in investing and relevant topics as I am.

After learning from successful writers, I became aware that distribution is more important than quality content.

A very accomplished writer spoke about the ironic reality of quality writers. Quality writers do not have their fair share of attention because they never seek it in the first place, not because their writing lack quality.

Writers are taught to be thoughtful. It is only natural for them to write long pieces with deep meaning.

Yet long-form content cannot build the audience that would read it.

If not long-form content, what works?

Unlike decades earlier, we are inundated by choices in media content. When everything competes for our attention, how do we select what deserves our attention?

I can only think of short-form, timely, and relevant content that is conducive for sharing.

Telling others about the content that captures our attention and that may in turn interest them bonds us to others. It is social glue.

This insight encourages me to pivot my focus. I hope to build a large base of readers before coming back to long-form content.

I’ll be back.
